an Award and a Winner

What? An Award!

Jennifer over at Mud Pies for Mommy has given me this lovely award.  She has the cutest blog about her SAHM (stay-at-home mom) life.  My kids are much older than hers now, but it is fun to read her stories and reminisce of the days when my boys were doing those things to me.  You really should get over there and have a look, maybe a laugh and always a smile.  Thank you Jennifer!

But there are the rules of the “One Lovely Blog Award”

Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and their blog link. Pass the award to 8 other blogs that you’ve recently discovered. There is always Stumble Upon to help find new blogs, I am sure if I was able to attend the BlogHer Food Conference last month I would have a billion new blogger friends.

Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

Sweet Somethings, check out her etsy store for the damn cutest cupcake lollipops ever

Food with Kid Appeal, I love her enthusiasm for healthy food and kids

Sophie’s Foodie Files, real yummy food and always, always leaves great comments

Spare Time Crafting, I wish I was a crafty person

A Bowl of Mush, the title reminds me of my childhood and nutmeg cookies, I love nutmeg

For The Birds, you just gotta go and see for yourself

Sugar Bar, great pics!

Eat This, her food looks damn delicious, gluten free and whole grains

And then there was a winner for the $50 Amazon Gift Card…

I have been having a rough time capturing the random.org results and posting them here. I do not know what my problem is… I can do it just fine on my PC, but now I am a Mac girl without a clue.

The lucky winner is Samantha! Enjoy and thanks for coming to my blog.

This post is a little delayed due to an unfortunate incident involving a mandoline and what started out to be delicious apple fritters.  Since the incident my fingers have been a little uninterested in typing.  I have come to find out that I use my fingertips to type and by golly, sure enough that is the same anatomy that tends to find its way into the sharp blade on a mandoline.  Don’t ask me how it happened, I have deep regret and still some pain from the unfortunate event.

Wow – Such an honor! I’ve never won anything. Never. Even in my field hockey days – always one point shy of winning. It wasn’t my fault though — ball hoggers! I love Serious Eats — visit all the time! And such a surprise to see that you know about little ol’ me! I’m tweeting this until the cows come home… and I don’t own any cows. Thanks!!!! – Ry

Passion 4 eating… I called you Serious Eats. Never post comments at 7am — I love P4E, as you know… now I’m going to go jump off a cliff. Thanks again for the award!

I’m always supportive of you and all, but isn’t that what the spike-y thing that came with the mandolin is for? I can ask this, since I had a similar incident with some cucumber involving the side of my pinkie finger…as you probably remember…miss you!

To all you winners, Oh the kind works have me gushing. The only thing that I feel bad about is that the not so gorgeousness of the award. As you can tell I am no graphic designer or I probably would have tweaked it before sending it on. I love Ry’s comment on the 80′s denim and hairspray ;-) (She cracks me up)

oh… so sorry to hear about your fingers. That’s why I have never taken my mandoline out of the box. Fear of injuring myself. I hear you can get a special glove….. but that doesn’t sound like you. How were the apple fritters?
