Bloody Gin & Tonic

Some days nothing beats a Gin & Tonic. That sweet, sour, evergreen essence is so refreshing. So how about this? While it is citrus season try a Blood Orange Gin & Tonic. The vibrant colors are worth it. It is even great without the gin if you are not a drinker.

I am not a great mixologist. I do not know how to measure, one jigger, etc. that is way too complicated. I need a faster approach when pressed with the desire to relax and have a good time. So presumably at the end of the day this is a great thirst quencher let alone a great kick-start to your evening whether with friends or not, I will not judge. Just be careful not to spill in the closet, could make a nasty, difficult to explain stain. :)

Be sure to use top shelf alcohol if you can, the stuff that comes in the plastic gallon jugs, however handy they may be, will probably leave you with one heck of a hangover the next morning.

Method:
I add a few ice cubs to a glass, pour in one or two fingers worth of good quality gin (Tanqueray), juice from half of a blood orange, top with tonic water. It’s that easy.

I usually make this in a tall glass. I find that more my style, yep, what a lush! A few torn mint leaves made a tasty garnish.

Drink up!

G&T is one of my favourites! I better get my hands on some blood oranges while I'm here on a short trip to London and they're still in season.

Fantastic idea!

Yay blood oranges! They just keeping popping up in so many recipes now. And the sweetness is a nice offset to gin.

@Christie, I am a G&T enthusiast, the original is usually my fav, but the colors in this really make the dreary winter look brighter!
