A few Sundays ago we had the pleasure of tasting the cheeses made by Quillisascut Farm from Rice in Northeast Washington State. They were promoting their new book Chefs on the Farm at Auntie’s Bookstore in Spokane with a tasting afterward at the adjoining Restaurant & Charcuterie Santé.
Some friends of ours tipped us off to the event, however it was too late to listen to the reading. Although, I think our timing was impeccable, we did get there in time for the tasting. The best part I am sure. The cheese was divine. All handcrafted goat cheeses, from fresh chevre to harder aged cheeses, the one with chipotle was my favorite. My 9 year old loves cheese, the stinker the better he always says, what a palate that boy has
This is one place we will have to make a point to visit. I haven’t been to that part of Washington since I was about 5 years old. I guess it is about time. Check them out at http://quillisascut.com/
for more information about their farm, book, cheeses and location. Great Find! do yourself a favor and buy some if you are lucky enough to find it, you will not be disappointed.

So good that you made it in time for the tasting! The cheeses look and sound fabulous. Local cheeses are so worth seeing out, aren’t they?
