Yummy frozen fruit pops. So easy, so yummy.

Do you feel a little guilty giving your kids the artificially colored and flavored Popsicles from the grocer? I do. There are some good fruit juice ones out there, but they tend to be expensive and isn’t it more fun to make your own. The kids have a lot of fun coming up with their own creations.

This recipe can also be used for a smoothie just poor into a glass instead of ice molds.

Recipe: Mango Ice Pops

Summary: Frozen fruit pops or ice lollies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of frozen chopped mangoes
  • 1 Tbsp agave syrup (can also use honey or superfine sugar)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice (or lime juice) fresh squeezed
  • 1/2 cup water (enough to keep things moving, mangoes can be a bit thick)

Instructions

  1. Whiz in the blender and viola!
  2. Taste it, what you want is a mixture that is a bit too sweet and a bit too sour then the finished product will be perfect.
  3. Adjust the sugar and syrup to make it just right.
  4. Pour into molds and freeze.

Quick Notes

use any fruit or juice you like.

Variations

add a few fresh or frozen blueberries in the molds.
Fill half way, top with a couple berries freeze for a while, top with guava juice (I used Ceres from South Africa) freeze some more until frozen.

Cooking time (duration): 15 + freezing time
